[V3] – Recommendation & Suggestion

Running Recommendation & Suggestion plugin on phpFox network is a powerful way to increase user engagement in site’s activities, boost user’s friend count, and build a better user-base site and connection. With Suggestion & Recommendation, users not only receive friend suggestions from the system or from their friends but also receive various content suggestions such as join-a-Page suggestion, join-an-event suggestion, view-a-blog suggestion, watch-a-video suggestion, etc. These suggestions are shown to users through user-friendly widgets and popups. In addition, users may reject suggestions that they are not interested in, and such suggestions will not be shown to them again.

Key Features

• Enable phpFox system to recommend members to other members (Friend Recommendation)
• After a member accepts a friend request from the other member, system will recommend friends of the other friend to that member
• Enable members to suggest friends and contents to their other friends
  • Friend Suggestion:
    • Suggest friends to just-accepted friend:
      • After member accepts a friend request from the other friend, member will suggest his/her other friends to that other friend through friend suggestion popup
    • Suggest friends to other friends who have a few friends:
      • Member is recommended to suggest friends to other friends who have a few friends through Fewer Friend block displayed on site homepage
    • Suggest friends to any particular friend through “Suggest to Friends” button on that friend’s profile
  • Content Suggestion:
    • Suggest just-created content to friends:
      • After member creates a content, member is recommended to suggest the content to his/her friends through content suggestion popup
    • Suggest latest contents to friends (latest events, latest Pages)
      • Member is recommended to suggest latest events/latest pages to his/her friends through Recent events block/Recent pages block displayed on site homepage
    • Suggest any particular content to friends through “Suggest friends” link on content’s profile page
• Content suggestions include: Pages, Blogs, Photos, Forum threads, Polls, Videos, Quizzes, Events, Music, Marketplace Listings
• Easy-to-navigate suggestion page which include sub-pages: All Suggestions, My Suggestions, Friends Suggestions, Incoming Suggestions, Pending Suggestions
• Allow admin to set friend suggestion condition for those who have a few friend: only those who have a number of friends less than the number configured by admin will be able to receive friend suggestions
• Member will receives Notification updates upon actions on friend suggestions
• Member can enable/disable recommendation & suggestion features through their Privacy Settings
• Friend suggestions and content suggestions can be viewed in Notification and in Suggestion page
• Allow admin to set number of entries to be displayed on blocks
• Admin can enable/disable recommendation and suggestion features
• Allow admin to configure which module will be supported by Suggestion and Recommendation
